A new year – a new approach

Towards the end of 2018 I realised that the actual time I’d spent getting out and doing street photography sessions had dropped off due to other commitments. To address this I’ve started to experiment with a new approach for 2019

I now make sure that before I leave the house for work my camera is actually on me rather than being in my bag. Fitting it with the 40mm pancake lens means it’s pretty inconspicuous under my coat. I leave it switched on in ‘P’ mode ready for anything that catches my eye on the way in; this process is repeated for the journey home

I’m still using my minimalist ‘One Camera One Lens’ philosophy so don’t carry any other lenses or kit with me unless a longer session is planned during the day itself

The new approach is working well for me so far. It’s given my photography a bit of a kick start and has increased the time I now have to do street photography sessions

Here’s some examples of photographs taken that would have been missed without following this approach
