The argument about what is and isn’t street photography seems to go on endlessly amongst certain groups of photographers. I use to have lots of fun with the ‘Street Photography Police’ on Instagram when I had an account by calling them out on their sarcastic comments on certain photos
Street Photography was the first thing I got into when I picked up my first DSLR a few years back. Since then I’ve dabbled in event photography, baby and portraits shots, landscape and urban landscape photography and wildlife photography. I now think I’ve found my ‘thing’ which is combining what I like to do such as street and wildlife photography, my love of cats, walking and exploring London and ‘One Camera One Lens’ photography
I’m a great believer in photographing whatever it is you want to photograph and don’t particularly like putting labels on what I do. Whenever I’m asked what I do I say ‘Street Photography’ however please feel free to label it whatever you want as I won’t be offended!
At some point I might come up with a new term for what I do and any suggestions are welcome
